My first week in the MTC has been a wonderful experience I have learned so much about myslef about my strengthes and weeknessed and I already learned a pretty good amount of portuguese. My companion is sister Packer and She is from Weiser, ID and was surely a sister effected by the age change. She just turned 20. MY district is great and I am so excited to continue to learn and grow. My spriritual growth this week has been based on the theme treasture up knowledge continuously. Learn all that you can each day and when you need it the Lord will bring it to your rememberance.

Oh I almost forgot...Here is the address to my mission.

Because I was assigned to the Brazil MTC I have not yet been given my MTC address. However, I have been told that you can use dearelder.com with just my first and last name and my mission, Brazil Porto alegre North.

It has really been an emotional roller-coaster the past few days. I gave my farewell talk on Sunday March 10th with many friends and loved once in attendance that the Baxter chapel. Here are a few photos. Thank you to The Lauano Family for the roses and the Siufanua family for the leis!

In just one hour I will be set apart as a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be getting on the plane today for the Provo MTC. I was called to the Brazil MTC but have not yet received my VISA. I am not sure how long I will be in Utah but I know i am going there for a reason. I am excited scared nervous and looking forward to this amazing experience.

On February 20, 2013 I went to the Anchorage alaska Temple and received my endowments. It was a beautiful sunny wednesday morning and I had a wonderful experience.

It is truly a blessing to be able to enter the Lords house to find peace from the world!

I am new to blogging but I am excited to have a way for my friends and family to stay updated on how I am doing while I am on my mission.  I am excited for my journey to begin and with less than a week left my dreams of becoming a missionary will finally be reality.

Before receiving my mission call, I made a post on Facebook to see if anyone would like to make guesses on where I would be called to serve and after received many responses I  created a map of  pins with the name of who guessed. The green pins on the map come from those I know in Alaska, the red pins are from those I know from Idaho and the house pin is my mission!

I received my mission call at my apartment in Moscow, Idaho, on October 25, 2012 while finishing my last semester of college. I opened it in the presents of my roommates and friends as well as with those on the phone that where back home in Alaska and in other places.  I was assigned to labor in the Brazil Porto Alegre North Mission.
